One arrested in Oman for smuggling narcotics

Muscat: A citizen was arrested for smuggling narcotic substances in Dhofar Governorate, Royal Oman Police (ROP), said.

"The Dhofar Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Special Tasks Police, arrested a citizen on charges of smuggling narcotic substances with the intention of trafficking in them. More than 500 packages of khat were seized from his possession," ROP said in a statement.

The ROP added that the legal procedures were being completed against him.
