Free transport for college and university students by public transport in Muscat and Salalah for two years

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology celebrated the first Logistics Day on Tuesday

The celebration saw the announcement of 6 initiatives to be implemented in 2024 within the logistics sector:

Free transportation for students of colleges and universities via the public transport network in the cities of Muscat and Salalah for two years; Programmes of the “Public Transport Open Day”.

The programmes are meant to spread public awareness, targeting citizens; and an 'Experiences Programme' to showcase real-life situations and practices.

It also involves an introductory programme in the logistics sector—to be implemented in ports of the governorates.

An initiative to empower small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the logistics sector, and to provide transport services for guests of the Sultanate of Oman.

The event also saw the launch of the third phase of workshops and clinics aimed to attract investment in the logistics sector. Winners of the “Best Practices Award in the logistics sector” were announced. They were felicitated in appreciation for their excellence, as a means to motivate operators in the logistics sector.
