Salalah: The construction works of the road projects by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in Dhofar Governorate with the- state- of -the art international technical standards has reached advanced stages.
The projects are being executed within the Ministry’s efforts related to the planning, design and construction of roads aimed to keep abreast of the economic development in the Sultanate.
Dhofar Governorate is witnessing the construction of a number of vital projects (currently under construction and others under the stages of design and award), in the various wilayats.
Khamis bin Mohammed Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary for Transport at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, said that the projects under construction include the design and change of the course of Arjout – Sarfait Road in the Wilayat of Dhalkut at the cost of OMR11 million.
The completion percentage of this project amounted to 79% and is expected to be complete by the end of 2024, he added.
He said that the completion percentage in the works of the Harweeb – Al Mazyouna-Mitan Road reached 15.2 % as scheduled and the cost of the project
amounts to OMR30 million. The completion percentage of the works of the road network in the wilayat of Maqshan exceeded 15% and the cost of project is approximately OMR 13 million.
