Indian Ambassador co-hosts reception aboard INS Tir and ICGS Veera in Muscat

Muscat: The Indian Ambassador to Oman, His Excellency Amit Narang, along with Vice Admiral V. Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Southern Naval Command, co-hosted a reception aboard the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Tir and Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Veera. The twin-deck event, held at Port Sultan Qaboos, was attended by diplomats, Omani dignitaries, and other esteemed guests.

The reception marked the arrival of Indian Naval Ships Tir and Shardul and ICGS Veera, part of the 1st Training Squadron, which made a 3-day port call in Muscat. During this time, joint exercises, training sessions, and professional exchanges were conducted with the Royal Navy of Oman, further strengthening maritime cooperation between the two nations.

During his visit to Oman, Vice Admiral V. Srinivas met with Oman’s military leadership, including the Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman and the Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces. The meetings reviewed ongoing bilateral naval and training cooperation, reinforcing the strong ties between India and Oman in defence and maritime security.
