Ooredoo committed to creating customers harmony

Satisfaction is a top priority for Ooredoo’s operations in Oman and it has been a vital strategy, building value and meaningful relationships with customers, its Chief Executive Officer said in an exclusive interview with Times of Oman.

Bassam Yousef Al Ibrahim, CEO of Ooredoo in Oman, says that putting the needs of customers first, has always been a priority.

“We always look carefully at how we can innovate to provide exactly what our customers want. By asking questions and indeed, listening to our customers actively, we can differentiate ourselves from our competitors, to provide competitive products and services to keep our customers connected - and in a way which suits them and which can be flexible and tailored to specific needs,” Mr Al Ibrahim explained.

He further said he is driven by customer-centric solutions in a journey aimed at truly pleasing customers.

“Building value-added solutions in this new age of telecommunications service is very important to us. That’s how we manage to stay ahead of our competitors,” the CEO said.

He admits that competition is always a challenge in a country where there are six other telecom companies all vying for the same business.

“In Oman, the telecom market is crowded and somewhat saturated, so staying competitive but maintaining the same value is important to customers. We have a dynamic and dedicated team that deals with the challenges this market presents, and that’s how we manage to say one step ahead,” Mr Al Ibrahim added.

In corporate, Ooredoo is also giving a high priority to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

“SMEs are a niche market and we have a dedicated section of the business to focus on them, so that we can deliver a service which is unique, specific and scalable, to grow and flex as their business evolves. We know that the SMEs are driving the economy and form a big part of the future of growth and development, as set out in Vision 2040,” the CEO pointed out.

Looking ahead to the next five years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) also features well in the company’s operations.

“AI is currently revolutionizing communities in all learning processes from very young children to top business executives. We are also working with colleges and universities to help them cover both the soft and technical skills in their curriculum to help students prepare for the future technological challenges,” the CEO concluded.
