Muscat: The General Directorate of Culture, Sports, and Youth in North Al Batinah Governorate recently organized the fifth annual festival for persons with disabilities.
The festival featured a variety of activities, including an exhibition of handicrafts and handmade items produced by individuals with disabilities from Al-Wafa Centers for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities. Additionally, the event showcased performances, arts, and entertainment.
Mohammed bin Ali Al-Farsi, Director of Sports and Youth Activities in North Al Batinah Governorate, emphasized that the activities aim to promote social integration and provide opportunities for individuals with disabilities to interact with their community. These experiences offer valuable learning opportunities beyond traditional educational settings.
Al-Farsi further highlighted that the festival contributes to the development of social communication skills among people with disabilities, enabling them to acquire knowledge, information, and skills that enhance their participation in society.
The festival was organized in collaboration with the General Directorate of Education in North Al Batinah, the Association for Disabled Children in Sohar, and Al-Wafa Centers for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Sohar, Al-Khaboura, and Al-Suwaiq.
