Function organised to honour Pakistan ambassador to Oman

Muscat: A grand welcome function was organised by the former Board of Directors of Pakistan Social Club at Crown Plaza Hotel, Qurum, on Thursday night to honour the newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman, Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari.

The distinguished gathering saw the participation of a large number of prominent community members, embassy officials, and notable dignitaries from Oman.

The event was aimed at boosting strong ties between Pakistan and Oman while also providing a platform for community engagement.

A large number of community members attended the event, including Iqbal Jaffar, Mian Riaz, Dr. Barni, A.H. Raja, Akthar Saleem, Sajjad, Asif, Tajamal Jami, Shandar Bokhari, Shakeel Maroof, Afzaal Ahmed, Faryad and Ch. Ashraf, among many others.

All officers from the Pakistani Embassy were also present to extend their support to the newly appointed ambassador.

Among the distinguished Omani guests were Najeeb Saleh Mohammad Al Zadjali, Member of the Majlis Al Shura; Mohammad Ramdhan Al Balushi, Member of the Majlis Al Shura; Al Sheikh Salim Hamdoon Saeed Al Jabri, Sheikh of Amerat; and Rudaina bint Amur Al Hajri, Director of the Saeedia School Museum.

Their presence underscored the deep-rooted friendship between Oman and Pakistan.

The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of both Pakistan and Oman. Abid Mughal, Mrs. Azra Aleem, and Mabool Sheikh hosted the event.

A special presentation was delivered by Kaleem Akhtar, showcasing the Pakistan Social Club’s vision, purpose, and past programmes. The highlight of the evening was the address by Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, who expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani community for their warm reception.

He praised the rich culture and hospitality of Oman and assured the community of his full support in addressing their needs and concerns. He emphasised that the doors of the Pakistani Embassy would always be open to community members and pledged to facilitate initiatives that promote the welfare of Pakistanis in Oman.

The event concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting, the presentation of shields to distinguished guests, and a grand dinner, allowing attendees to engage in meaningful discussions and celebrate the strong Pakistan-Oman relationship.

The welcome dinner served as a testament to the unity and commitment of the Pakistani community in Oman, reaffirming their dedication to strengthening ties between the two nations.
