ROP announces traffic restrictions in Muscat for Ironman World Championship

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) Directorate of Relations and Security Information has announced partial traffic closures in Muscat Governorate on Saturday, February 8, 2025, to accommodate the Ironman World Championship 2025. The event will include swimming, cycling, and running stages.

The cycling competition will commence behind the W Muscat Hotel, proceed towards the Ministry of Foreign Affairs traffic lights, and turn right to the Royal Opera House Muscat traffic lights, continuing to the Culture roundabout.

From there, the route will return from the front of the Ministry of Health along the same route to the Al Sarouj traffic lights, turn left to Darsait-Qurum Road, and continue to Matrah Corniche via Al Bustan and Al Wadi Al Kabir.

The route will then proceed to the Darsait traffic lights, turn left to Ruwi, and continue to the Wilayat of Al Amerat via Wadi Aday. It will then return from the roundabout opposite the Al Amerat Police Station to Qurum via Wadi Aday and Wattayah, turning right to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs traffic lights, and finally returning to the starting point.

Parking will be prohibited on both sides of the roads along the race route. Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
