Muscat: The General Directorate of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations has arrested a Syrian resident for defrauding several citizens through fake commercial advertisements on social media platforms.
Royal Oman Police said: “The suspect allegedly exploited these ads to collect advance payments for goods that were never delivered.”
ROP has confirmed that legal procedures are underway to address the case.
In another case, the Coastguard Police of Musandam Governorate Police Command, have arrested six individuals of Afghan nationality while attempting to enter the country illegally in the Wilayat of Bukha. Legal procedures are being completed against the accused.
