Kuwait: The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the 6th session of the Governmental Forum to Combat Human Trafficking in the Middle East, held in the State of Kuwait.
Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, headed Oman’s delegation at the forum.
He highlighted Oman’s efforts in combating human trafficking through awareness campaigns, legislation, seminars, workshops, and the provision of protection and assistance to victims and affected individuals.
The forum explored ways to enhance regional cooperation and exchange expertise among member states in combating human trafficking, strengthening protection and prevention efforts, and prosecuting offenders in accordance with international standards, in collaboration with relevant international organizations and institutions.
