Muscat— Yang Berhormat Pehin Dato Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office of Brunei Darussalam, visited today the 29th Muscat International Book Fair, as part of his current visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
During the visit, the guest and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the displayed items at the pavilion of North A’Sharqiyah Governorate pavilion—the fair's guest of honor—showcasing the governorate's local culture, history, prominent figures, scientific and humanitarian achievements, and tourist attractions.
The guest also toured the Ministry of Information's pavilion, which features four sections representing Oman News Agency, the Directorate General of Digital Media (Ayn Platform and Media Portal), the Directorate General of Publications and Artistic Works, and the Directorate General of External Media (Media Center), along with the newly launched "Ayn for Kids" interface, which provides dedicated media content for children.
He also visited Brunei Darussalam's pavilion at the fair and the "Arts Hall" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, which showcases various art forms, including visual arts, photography, music, and theater.
Moreover, the guest explored the fair's diverse pavilions, which feature a wide range of cultural, intellectual, and scientific titles. The event includes a total of 681,041 titles, with 467,413 Arabic books and 213,610 foreign publications.
