Sohar: The Municipal Council of North Al Batinah Governorate held its regular meeting on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah and Chairman of the Council.
The meeting reviewed several developmental and service-related topics and initiatives across the governorate.
The Council discussed the outcomes of the Child Protection Committee meeting, which included the participation of specialists from the General Directorate of Social Development in the governorate. The discussions focused on recommendations and proposals to enhance child protection mechanisms in North Al Batinah.
During the session, the Council also hosted specialists from the Municipal Council Department at the North Al Batinah Governor’s Office, who presented a visual overview of the "Investment, Infrastructure, and Services Studies: Inclusive Planning and Future Foresight" initiative. This initiative aims to improve planning efficiency and enhance the quality of investments and public services in alignment with sustainable development goals.
Additionally, the Council examined the results of the second Governorate Development and Enhancement Committee meeting, which prioritized healthcare sector developments in North Al Batinah. The meeting further addressed responses from relevant authorities on various service-related matters, including requests to allocate land for a public park in Al Sahlah area of the Wilayat of Al Khaboura, among other requests.
Other key proposals discussed during the meeting included identifying suitable locations for beachfront sports facilities along the governorate’s coastline, developing the vehicle inspection area in car showrooms at Al Awhi in the Wilayat of Sohar, and rehabilitating historic farms irrigated by Falaj Al Qabail.
