Shinas Port handles over 360,000 tonnes of exports, imports in first half of 2025

Shinas: Statistical data released by Shinas Port in North Al Batinah Governorate indicated a rise in the growth of exports and imports during the first half of this year, reflecting the port’s expanding role in supporting the national economy and enhancing regional and international trade.

Khatir Ali Al-Ma’amari, Executive Director of Shinas Port, stated that the total volume of goods handled reached 360,556 tonnes, including 353,735 tonnes of imports and 6,821 tonnes of exports.

He explained that the port received diverse imports, including 14,121 tonnes of construction materials, 604 tonnes of food supplies, and 1,236 tonnes of general cargo. Additionally, the port handled 2,350 heads of livestock and camels.

The port’s Executive Director noted that exports amounted to 6,821 tonnes, comprising 40 tonnes of construction materials, 4,040 tonnes of general cargo, and 41,655 heads of livestock and camels. He emphasised that the port continues to support various economic sectors and facilitate trade movement at regional and international levels.

Al-Ma’amari added that the port recently signed several agreements with Omani institutions as part of Shinas Port’s efforts to strengthen the role of national enterprises and enable Omani companies to provide services in maritime transport and logistics. These agreements also aim to deliver essential logistical services to ships, serving as a key driver for economic growth and maritime supply chains.
