Muscat: Expats living in Oman will now be able to get a Resident Card with a validity of 3-years.

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has introduced three validity periods for expatriate resident cards, ranging from one to three years.

These changes stem from Decision No. 78/2025, issued today by Lieutenant General Hassan bin Mohsin al Shraiqi, Inspector-General of Police and Customs, which also updated the validity of Omani ID cards for citizens to 10 years.

Key Updates:

Validity choices and fees for expatriate resident cards will be:

1 year: OMR 5 for issuance or renewal

2 years:  OMR 10

3 years: OMR 15

Lost or damaged card replacement: OMR 20

All cardholders must renew their resident cards within 30 days of expiration to comply with the new rule.
