Muscat: Dhofar Governorate will host the First Regional ALECSO Forum for Education, Culture, and the Arts from September 1-2.
The forum is organised by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).
A number of experts and educators specializing in education, culture, and the arts from ALECSO will participate in the forum, along with representatives from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
This forum reflects ALECSO's efforts to enhance the role of culture and the arts within the educational system, in line with the UNESCO Global Framework for Education for Culture and the Arts, launched at the World Conference in Abu Dhabi in 2024. It also supports partnerships between governments, cultural institutions, and the private sector, and stimulates investment in educational and cultural infrastructure.
The forum's agenda includes the presentation of three important reference documents: the School Theater Guide, the Music Education Guide, and the Fine Arts Education Guide. These documents are expected to contribute to the development of arts curricula and serve as a reference for educational institutions in the participating countries.
The forum also includes field visits to a number of prominent educational and cultural institutions in Dhofar Governorate, in addition to practical workshops focused on the use of modern technologies in art education, enhancing the efficiency of artistic educational practices and supporting innovation and creativity among students.
