Muscat: Oman Post has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Danish company e-Box to create and operate the National Digital Postbox in the Sultanate. This new platform will serve as a secure and official channel for communication between government agencies, the private sector, and individuals.
This initiative is a key step in Oman's digital transformation efforts, aiming to enhance data protection and governance in line with Oman Vision 2040. The service will provide individuals and institutions with a legally recognized digital postbox that adheres to high national data protection standards. It will serve as an alternative to multiple communication channels by providing a single, reliable 24/7 digital source for official documents such as invoices, contracts, statements, and notices.
According to Sayyid Nasr bin Badr Al Busaidi, Head of the Postal Unit at Oman Post, the digital postbox will help government agencies deliver services more quickly and provide businesses with a secure means of communication. He noted that the partnership aligns with Oman Vision 2040's goals of improving the individual experience, enhancing private sector competitiveness, and protecting national data.
Ulrik Falkner Thajsen, CEO of e-Box, stated that the company's vision aligns with Oman Post's and that the partnership will provide a secure platform that can be integrated with both public and private sector systems across Oman. The collaboration also includes knowledge and expertise exchange to build local capacity and ensure the platform's readiness for the future digital economy.
