Dubai: Sohar Recovery Centre project has won the Best Quality Recovery Award for a standard project that offers advanced services in the field of treatment and rehabilitation of addicts of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The award was announced at the 5th Middle East and North Africa Public-Private Partnership Forum (5th PPP Forum 2025) held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Sohar Recovery Centre project, which forms part of a public-private partnership programme overseen by the Ministry of Finance, seeks to encourage the private sector to invest in infrastructure projects and public services by providing innovative services and achieving sustainable growth.
In February 2025, the Ministry of Health signed an agreement with Salwa Healthcare company to operate, expand, and run the new recovery centre in the Wilayat of Sohar.
The agreement, concluded in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, was aimed to upgrade the facility into a centre of excellence that is capable of offering top quality treatment and rehabilitation services to addicts of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The agreement affirms the company'a commitment to operate the units of the centre which, in its first phase, provides 30 rehabilitation beds and a 25-bed detoxification unit.
