Muscat: More than 150 contracts worth OMR116 million were signed by the local and international government and private sector companies during COMEX 2025.
The signing of agreements registered an increase of 45% compared to OMR80 million worth contracts signed in COMEX 2024.
These agreements comprised memoranda of understanding and cooperation between a number of government establishments and local companies, mainly the SMEs and international companies on execution of tech projects and offering digital services such as in artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable energy for data centres, digital solutions and cyber security services and other fields, activities and technological services.
Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shizani, Undersecretary For Communications And Information Technology at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, said that the tangible growth in the total value of the contracts during COMEX 2025 reflected the attention of local and international investors for the opportunities in the digital sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
He said that these results boost the Sultanate’s place as a destination attractive to investments and strategic partnerships in the field of technology in the Sultanate of Oman.
The results also reaffirm the ministry’s commitment towards digital innovation, development of digital basic structure besides the contribution to digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman.
The number of visitors at COMEX 2025 amounted to over 90, 000, an increase of 10% compared to COMEX 2024 , while the number of startups which participated in COMEX 2025 amounted to over 140 companies along with over 200 government entities, private companies and international delegations in the field of technology and digital transformation.
The activities accompanying COMEX 2025 included 80 workshops and the launch of over 40 products, innovations and services.
