EA Chief discusses ways to save the environment

Abu Dhabi: Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority (EA) and President of the 7th United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), discussed strengthening bilateral and international cooperation in environmental fields during a meeting with Ruth Davies, the United Kingdom’s Special Representative for Nature, on the sidelines of the 27th World Conservation Congress 2025, held in Abu Dhabi.

The meeting focused on ways to support joint environmental governance between the United Nations Environment Assembly and other international environmental agreements, in line with the strategic objectives of the seventh session.

The meeting is an extension of the strategic bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, including environmental cooperation and investment in sustainable development.

 It also reflects the United Kingdom’s support for the Sultanate of Oman’s positions on the key items in the Ministerial Declaration of the Seventh Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly.

The Sultanate of Oman’s participation in the 27th session of the World Conservation Congress 2025 affirms its unwavering commitment to international efforts aimed at conserving nature and ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources.
