Muscat: The Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers on Monday announced the results of the recent voting process conducted to select the themes for the fourth edition of the “Together Forward” forum in 2026.
The voting, which proceeded smoothly and seamlessly, witnessed the participation of over 5,620 citizens from all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The voting results revealed close percentages in the participants’ choice for the main forum theme among the three main proposed themes.
The theme “Oman 2040 Vision: The Reality of Achievement and Prospects for Progress” received 35% of the votes. The theme “Enhancing Government Services to Boost Productivity and Competitiveness” came in second with 33%, while the theme “Investment Aspirations in Priority Economic Sectors” received 32% of the total participants’ votes.
Given the close voting percentages for the three aforementioned themes, it was indicated that the possibility of including all these themes for discussion in the forum sessions will be considered.
Within the framework of providing an opportunity for participating citizens to choose another topic of interest beyond those presented for voting, the results showed that the largest number of voters selected “Labour Market and Employment” as an additional theme to be discussed alongside the main forum theme, garnering over 1,260 votes.
The Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers will announce at a later date the forum’s schedule and the registration period for citizens to attend its sessions and events.
This annual forum, which receives the esteemed attention of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, aims to serve as a shared communication channel between the government and society. Through it, transparency, credibility and partnership between decision-makers and citizens are achieved, alongside enhancing mutual trust and providing an opportunity for all segments of society to express their opinions, suggestions, and share their concerns.
