Duqm: With the participation of more than 400 attendees, and 54 speakers from within the Sultanate of Oman and abroad, the Duqm Economic Forum 2025 was launched on Monday.
The theme of the forum in its second edition is "Duqm Leads Change". Eng. Ahmed Ali Akaak, CEO of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, said: “The volume of investments committed for implementation in the zone has reached, as of mid-current year, more than OMR6 billion.
The forum witnessed the signing of 3 agreements, which include the establishment and operation of facilities for storing petroleum and chemical products, the establishment and management of a company specialized in managing the supply chain for the energy sector, and the establishment of the social complex for the "Marafiq" Duqm company using 3D printing technology.
The forum also witnessed the signing of two memoranda of understanding, the first for the development of an integrated tourism, residential, and commercial project in Duqm, and the second for enhancing strategic cooperation between Duqm Port Company and the Japanese company Nippon Yusen Line in the fields of maritime transport and port infrastructure.
