All set to groove

Muscat: The stage is set, the beats are ready, and hundreds of dancers — from schoolchildren to passionate mothers — are gearing up to set the floor ablaze at the Middle East Dance Championship (MEDC), taking place under the vibrant theme “Anybody Can Dance” at the Sheraton Oman Hotel on November 7.

Hosted by Kings United Dance Academy – Muscat in collaboration with Nexus Media, the event promises an electrifying showcase of talent, rhythm, and cultural flair.

From the grace of classical moves to the energy of hip-hop, performers of all ages and skill levels will compete across multiple categories including classical, semi-classical, hip hop, folk, duet, and group performances.

And that’s not all — adding a special touch to the line-up are mothers who will take centre stage to prove that passion knows no age limits. With their enthusiasm and confidence, these talented moms are ready to impress the judges and win hearts.

“This championship isn’t just about competition — it’s about celebrating passion, creativity, and community,” say the organisers. “Dance is for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time, MEDC is your moment to shine.”

The response has been nothing short of phenomenal. Registrations, which opened in early October, filled up quickly. “We’ve been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm,” shared Tejas Gupta, Director of Kings United. “Although many continue to reach out, we’re now completely booked. Entry for the event will be strictly by invitation only.”

Tejas also extended his gratitude to the Indian School Board, Sri Lankan School Management, Nepali and Filipino communities and other local schools and Arzoo media  for their incredible support in making the first edition of MEDC a reality.

A panel of judges from various schools, along with a celebrity guest, will evaluate performances and crown the champions during the grand finale.

Adding another exciting element, GUIDE ME, one of the GCC’s fastest-growing education advisory and test preparation firms, will partner with the event. Students and parents will have the opportunity to engage with GUIDE ME’s education experts, who will offer valuable advice and insights on academic and career planning.

Based in Dubai, the firm is now preparing to launch its advisory services in Oman, bringing personalised educational guidance to students across the Sultanate.

Blending the worlds of artistic expression and academic inspiration, the Middle East Dance Championship is shaping up to be more than just a competition — it’s a celebration of dreams, learning, and limitless potential.
