Muscat: A joint search and rescue operation involving the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA), the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), and police aviation units successfully recovered the body of an individual from a remote and challenging mountainous area in the Wilayat of Khasab, Musandam Governorate.
The complex mission was launched following a report received by the CDAA operations center.
The operation was initiated after authorities were alerted to the presence of a body in a location that was extremely difficult to access due to the terrain. A specialized rescue team was immediately dispatched, equipped with gear suited for the steep, mountainous environment.
The recovery necessitated advanced techniques and seamless coordination.
The team executed a precise aerial descent from a helicopter, utilising anchors and ropes to reach the body on the steep slope.
The remains were safely retrieved and subsequently handed over to the relevant authorities to complete necessary legal procedures.
