RAFO conducts practical demo of tactical exercise Shams 35

Nizwa: The Sultan Qaboos Air Academy at the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) on Sunday conducted the practical demonstration of a tactical exercise codenamed “Shams 35”, which forms part of the Officer Cadets Course, the University Officers Course and the Limited Service Course.

The practical demo took place in the training area in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah under the auspices of Air Vice Marshal Khamis bin Hammad Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman.

At the outset of the event, the chief guest and the attendees listened to a briefing about the different stages of tactical exercise Shams 35 and its training objectives. Then, the practical demo was carried out in accordance with the preset plan.

In comments, Air Vice Marshal Al Ghafri commended the lofty standards and high morale that prevailed during the exercise and its related events. He expressed his appreciation for the efforts that made the exercise a success. He urged all to maintain dedicated action in serving the homeland under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.

Tactical exercise Shams 35 serves as a practical means to provide officer cadets with military sciences that qualify them to deal with various missions assigned to them after their graduation. It hones the candidates’ individual and collective leadership and tactical skills.

The event was attended by senior officers, officers and personnel of the Royal Air Force of Oman.
