Ashgabat: Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi headed the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation to the International Forum “Peace and Trust: Unity of Purpose for a Sustainable Future,” held to mark the International Year of Peace and Trust 2025 and the thirtieth anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.
The forum, convened in Ashgabat, brought together numerous world leaders, heads of international organisations and senior officials from across the globe. It served as an international platform for exchanging views on ways to strengthen multilateral cooperation, build mutual trust and develop effective partnerships that support regional and international security and stability.
The event forms part of the international activities hosted by Turkmenistan on the occasion of the UN-declared International Year of Peace and Trust 2025, which aims to promote constructive dialogue and encourage diplomatic solutions to conflicts.
Oman’s participation reflects its steady approach in supporting initiatives that advance peace. It also highlights the country’s commitment to preventive diplomacy and its encouragement of dialogue, understanding and harmony among nations. This approach is rooted in Oman’s foreign policy principles of mutual respect, good neighbourliness, non-interference in the internal affairs of others and the peaceful settlement of disputes.
It also aligns with Oman’s support for initiatives that enhance security and shared interests among peoples, and with its active regional and international role in promoting stability and strengthening cooperation.
