Muscat: In a strategic move to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and bring structure to street vending, Muscat Municipality has unveiled a dedicated food truck site in Al Mawaleh under the “Masar” initiative. The project aims to provide a fully serviced, regulated space for food truck operators, enhancing both business opportunities and visitor experiences.
The initiative is part of the municipality’s broader efforts to foster entrepreneurship and improve urban planning. The “Masar” site features designated parking, shaded seating areas, and essential utilities, creating a vibrant and organized environment for mobile food vendors.
Sohar International has played a pivotal role in bringing the project to life through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. The bank contributed 25 fully equipped food trucks to the site, enabling aspiring entrepreneurs to launch their businesses with minimal startup costs.
