
MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman generated a total of 51,482 job opportunities in 2025, achieving 114 percent of its annual employment and training target and surpassing the goal of 45,000 opportunities, according to the Ministry of Labour.
The ministry said the achievement reflects strong integration between government entities and the private sector in supporting the national employment system through coordinated policies and initiatives.
It noted that quality programmes implemented during the year included replacement plans, training linked with employment, initiatives to enhance the skills of job seekers, and close cooperation with private sector establishments to create sustainable job opportunities.
First-time employment and replacement in the government sector accounted for 11,206 opportunities, exceeding the set target of 10,000. The private sector, meanwhile, recorded 25,207 job opportunities, surpassing its target of 24,000.
In the area of training and qualification, including programmes combined with employment, the public sector provided 2,588 opportunities, while the private sector recorded 12,481 opportunities.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the development of initiatives and projects aimed at improving the work environment and raising employment rates, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
