Al Ma'mura-Taqah road maintenance project in full swing in Dhofar Governorate

Salalah--- The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is carrying out a project to maintain the 44-km Al Ma'mura-Taqah road in Dhofar Governorate, to the tune of RO 1.5 million.

Eng. Omar Ahmed Muflih, Director of the Road Maintenance Department at the Directorate General of Roads and Land Transport in Dhofar Governorate, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the project includes adding an asphalt layer along a stretch of 11 kilometres on both sides of the road from Al Ma'mura roundabout in Salalah to Taqah roundabout.

Eng. Omar pointed out that the project also includes the restoration of the roundabouts of Hamran, Nashib and Taqah, in addition to the installation of guardrails, road markings and sign posts.

The project, scheduled to be completed by November 2026, aims to develop road infrastructure, improve traffic flow, enhance safety and ease connections between the wilayats of Salalah and Taqah in Dhofar Governorate.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is keen to establish a safe and integrated road network that meets the requirements of urban and social development and supports economic and service activities in the Governorate of Dhofar.
