Holy month of Ramadan likely to begin on February 19

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs said that the crescent moon of Sha'ban 1447 AH has been sighted on Monday.

So, Tuesday, January 20, 2026, will be the first day of the month of Sha'ban.

According to the calendar, the month of Sha'ban will be 30 days, with the first day of the holy month of Ramadan expected to fall on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

The month-long Ramadan will conclude with Eid Al Fitr, which is likely to be on either March 19 or March 20.
