Oman Olympic Academy to conclude specialised course on sports leadership

Muscat: The Oman Olympic Academy, under Oman Olympic Committee, will be concluding a specialised Sports Leadership Course on Wednesday.

Organised in cooperation with International Olympic Solidarity, under the patronage of Dr. Marwan bin Jumaa Al Jumaa, Board Member of Oman Olympic Committee, the three-day course is being delivered by Dr. Ishaq bin Ahmed Al Balushi, Director of Oman Olympic Academy, with the participation of a number of professionals working across various sports institutions and organisations.

The course aims to develop leadership and administrative capabilities of professionals in the sports sector, enhance modern management concepts to elevate institutional performance and achieve sustainability in sports operations, and prepare leaders capable of keeping pace with rapid transformations in management of sports institutions while adhering to best administrative practices and principles of good governance.

The significance of the course stems from its focus on building a comprehensive knowledge base in administrative and organizational aspects, linking theoretical concepts with practical application to enhance work efficiency within sports institutions and support ongoing efforts to develop national sports system based on scientific and modern methodological foundations.

The programme covers several key themes, including human resources management practices, strategic management and its stages,

organisational management and institutional structuring, governance of sports institutions and its challenges, financial management of sports organizations, and fundamentals of sports industry.

These topics are presented through an interactive approach reflecting realities and needs of sports sector.
