Abu Dhabi – The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the closure of the UAE embassy in Tehran and the withdrawal of its ambassador and all members of its diplomatic mission from the Iran.
In a press statement carried by the official Emirates News Agency, the Ministry described the recent attacks as aggressive and targeting civilian sites, including residential areas, airports, ports and service facilities.
It said such actions endangered civilians and represented a dangerous and irresponsible escalation, constituting a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Ministry stressed that the decision reflects the UAE’s firm and unwavering stance in rejecting any aggression that affects its security and sovereignty. It added that the continued aggressive and provocative approach undermines opportunities for de-escalation and pushes the region toward extremely dangerous paths, threatening regional and international security and stability, as well as energy security and the stability of the global economy.
