Muscat— The Wilayat of Barka recorded the highest rainfall totals from the “Al-Musarrat” weather system, reaching 133 mm, according to monitoring stations of the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources.
It was followed by Wadi Al-Maawil with 85 mm and Al-Musannah with 83 mm. Other notable rainfall figures included 70 mm in Bousher, 68 mm in Seeb, 64 mm in Suwaiq, and 60 mm in Rustaq.
According to weather maps issued by the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center, the effects of the system are ongoing, with heavy thunderstorms expected to continue until today across several governorates in Oman.
Forecasts indicate the possibility of hail and strong downdrafts, which may reduce horizontal visibility in some areas. The weather system is expected to impact Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Ad Dhahirah, Ad Dakhiliyah, and Muscat, in addition to parts of North and South Ash Sharqiyah governorates.
