Danube Women, Bousherian Blasters Emerge Champions

The Women’s League Final between Danube Women and ISWK Women delivered an exciting and high-quality contest, with Danube Women emerging as champions following a clinical run chase. ISWK Women posted a competitive 123/2 in their 20 overs, led by a superb 67 off 60 balls from Jayadhanyha Gunasekar, with Pia Sharma contributing 17, while Danube’s bowlers Suranjie Dias (1/24) and Merita Pinto (1/11) ensured the total remained within reach. In response, Danube Women chased down the target comfortably in 18 overs, finishing at 124/2, courtesy of a match-winning 70 off 59 balls from Priyanka Mendonca, well supported by Trupti Pawde’s 29 off 37. Despite a disciplined effort with the ball from Jayadhanyha Gunasekar (1/18), Danube Women maintained control to secure a well-deserved title. Priyanka Mendonca was named Player of the Final, while the individual honours for the tournament saw Nitya Joshi awarded Best Batter, Fiza Javed named Best Bowler, Disha Pradeep recognized as Best All-Rounder and Jayadhanyha Gunasekar crowned Player of the Tournament.

In the Girls U19 League conducted by OC for the first time, Bousherian Blasters capped off an outstanding campaign by finishing at the top of the points table with four wins to be crowned undefeated champions while ISWK Women’s were the Runners-up with 3 wins out of 4. The success of the tournament reflects the growing strength of the youth pathway in Oman, with several promising players making their mark and reinforcing the positive trajectory of girls’ cricket development in the country. Among the individual award winners, Eshal Siddiqui was named Best Batter, Khushi Muthukumari claimed the Best Bowler award, Katherine Binu was recognized as Best All-Rounder, and Disha Pradeep continued her excellent run by being adjudged Player of the Tournament.
