Raysut Industrial City localises 20 projects worth over OMR38mn

Salalah: Raysut Industrial City, affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), received about 36 investment applications during 2025, and succeeded in establishing 20 projects with a total investment of OMR38.2 million.

They are established in a total area exceeding 151,000 square metres. Most of them are concentrated in manufacturing, food and pharmaceutical industrial sectors.

At the same time, the industrial city administration succeeded in addressing 8 stalled projects by replacing them with quality projects in targeted sectors.

Engineer Abdul Qadir bin Salem Al Balushi, Director General of Raysut Industrial City, said that the total cumulative investment in the industrial city exceeded OMR641 million by the end of 2025, with a growth rate of 4 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

He said to the Oman News Agency that the total number of workers in the industrial city reached 3,283, including 1,281 Omanis and 2,002 expatriates. In addition, the number of job opportunities provided to Omanis last year alone amounted to 180 jobs.

He said that the total area of the industrial city exceeded 4 million square metres, with an occupancy rate of 97 percent for the developed areas, with future expansions planned for up to 5 million square metres.

He pointed out that the Industrial City Administration has set a number of targets during the Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030), including working to attract and localise 100 new projects, and achieving total investments estimated at OMR100 million, in addition to enhancing the position of Raysut Industrial City as a regional centre for food and medical industries. It also plans to develop infrastructure by way of new expansions to provide all basic services and also to provide 2,000 job opportunities for citizens.

He confirmed that there are many infrastructure projects that Madayn is currently working on to develop and improve the efficiency of basic services in Raysut Industrial City. These include, among others, project to provide water and sewage services in the second and third phases, another project to conduct studies and general plans for the new additional expansions.

He further pointed out that another group of approved projects that will soon be implemented. These include a project to expand and develop infrastructure for new spaces, establishment of a pioneering Madayn complex and the project to raise the efficiency of the security system in a way that contributes to accommodating new investment demands and further enhance the competitiveness of the industrial city during the next stage.

The Director General of Raysut Industrial City said that the city enjoys a strategic location in the state of Salalah in the Dhofar Governorate and contributes to enhancing access to the markets of the Horn of Africa and Asia. Also the industrial city is in close proximity to Yemeni market, which gives it important competitive advantages in the fields of export and logistics services.

The city also provides components and attractive factors in the Dhofar Governorate to be a centre for food and pharmaceutical industries. It also is planning to work with a number of partners in launching initiatives to explore investment opportunities for supply chains related to the medical sector and a project to establish a cluster for food industries.
