
Muscat– Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, received today Georgy Borisenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, the two sides affirmed their mutual keenness to continue developing relations of cooperation and partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation.
They emphasized building upon the outcomes of the historic visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Russian Federation last year.
The meeting also highlighted the ongoing progress in bilateral relations, particularly in the economic, commercial, investment, energy, transport, and tourism sectors, in addition to enhancing cultural, scientific, and technical cooperation in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries.
The two sides discussed a number of regional and international issues and developments. They affirmed the importance of intensifying consultation and joint action, developing mechanisms for international and multilateral cooperation, and adhering to international law when addressing regional and global challenges.
They further emphasized the necessity of consolidating the approach of dialogue and diplomacy to support stability and peaceful coexistence.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs; Munthir bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry; Oleg Levin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Sultanate of Oman and several officials from both sides.
