HM the Sultan issues two Royal decrees

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Monday issued two Royal decrees, reading as follows:

Royal Decree No. (61/2026) on the promulgation of the Law on Combating Cybercrime.

After the same was presented before the Council of Oman.

Article (1) stipulates that the provisions of the Law on Combating Cybercrime, attached to this decree, shall be enforced.

Article (2) annuls Royal decree No. 12/2011 on the Law of Combating Cybercrime. It also cancels all that contradicts the attached law or contravenes its provisions.

Article (3) says that this decree shall be published by the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publishing.

Royal Decree No. (62/2026) on the amendment of some provisions of the Cultural Heritage Law.

After the same was presented before the Council of Oman.

Article (1) states that the text of Article Two of Royal decree No. 35/2019 on the Cultural Heritage Law shall be replaced with the following text: “The Minister of Heritage and Tourism, after coordinating with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, shall issue the executive regulation of the attached law, as well as the decisions necessary for its implementation. Till such time, the existing regulations and decisions shall continue to be applied without prejudice to the provisions of the attached law.”

Article (2) stipulates that the amendments attached to this decree shall be applied to the Cultural Heritage Law, promulgated by Royal decree No. 35/2019.

Article (3) cancels all that contradicts the amendments attached to this decree or contravenes their provisions.

Article (4) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from the day following its date of publishing.
