Workshop highlights means of enhancing local content in Al Buraimi

Al Buraimi: Al Buraimi Governorate, in cooperation with the Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority, organized today at the University of Buraimi a workshop titled "Transferring Local Content Concepts to Companies Operating in Al Buraimi Governorate."

The event saw the participation of a number of specialists from the governorate and representatives of companies executing developmental projects.

The two-day workshop aims to enhance the understanding of companies operating in the governorate regarding local content concepts and its implementation mechanisms in developmental projects. This contributes to maximizing the utilization of economic opportunities provided by developmental projects and supporting sustainable economic growth.

Mohammed Rashid Al Shuhi, Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs at Al Buraimi Governorate, emphasized in a speech delivered during the opening of the workshop the importance of promoting local content concepts among companies operating in the governorate, noting that this contributes to expanding the utilization of locally available resources and services and enhancing the economic impact of developmental projects.

The workshop covered the definition of local content concepts, its key pillars, and mechanisms for its activation in projects. It also highlighted successful models and experiences in its application, in addition to interactive discussion sessions and a review of the main challenges and opportunities associated with promoting local content practices.

The workshop focused on several themes related to enhancing local content, including supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in developmental projects, localizing supply chains, developing national capabilities, as well as transferring knowledge and modern technologies.
