MUSCAT: In a move aimed at strengthening infrastructure and enhancing community services, Muscat Municipality has signed several agreements for the implementation of new development projects in the wilayats of A’Seeb, Bausher and Al Amerat, further supporting efforts to improve the quality of life across the Governorate of Muscat.
Among the agreements is a consultancy contract for studies and designs related to the development of the industrial area in South Al Mabela in the Wilayat of A’Seeb.
The project seeks to prepare a comprehensive master plan for the area, including the upgrading of internal roads, enhancement of infrastructure and public services, improvement of road safety standards, and beautification through landscaping and afforestation initiatives.
The municipality said the project is expected to support economic, commercial and industrial activities while creating a more efficient and sustainable business environment that keeps pace with urban growth in the area.
Another agreement covers the construction of a new public park opposite the Fun Zone commercial centre in Al Qurm, Wilayat of Bausher. The project aligns with Muscat Municipality’s strategy of expanding green spaces and providing modern recreational facilities for the community.
The park will feature a shaded main pedestrian walkway, extensive landscaped areas, a multi-purpose interactive plaza and a café with panoramic views. It will also include a variety of recreational and service facilities designed to cater to different segments of society, while incorporating sustainability principles and environmentally friendly practices throughout its design and implementation.
In Al Amerat, the municipality signed an agreement for the construction of the Al Amerat Residential Park. Inspired by Oman’s natural landscapes and the terrain of local wadis, the park’s design incorporates elements of Omani architectural and cultural heritage.
The project aims to create an attractive open space for residents and visitors, offering recreational and sports facilities alongside dedicated areas for social and cultural activities. The development is expected to serve people of all age groups, promote healthy lifestyles and strengthen community engagement.
Muscat Municipality said the projects reflect its commitment to developing modern, efficient and sustainable urban environments through strategic investments in infrastructure, public facilities and open spaces. The initiatives are also expected to enhance the governorate’s attractiveness while supporting broader urban, economic and social development goals.
