Foreign Minister, Iranian counterpart affirm commitment to strengthening ties, maritime security in Hormuz

Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran held a telephone conversation today during which they reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation across various fields, rooted in the principles of good neighbourliness and the historical and cultural bonds uniting peoples of the region.

In light of the recently reached US‑Iran understandings, the two ministers reiterated their countries’ adherence to international law regarding the safe and free passage of maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. They expressed hope that the coming period would see serious and sustained efforts by all parties to foster a supportive climate for a constructive political and diplomatic path, safeguarding the region’s security and stability.
