Oman participates in preparatory meetings for Arab industrial development general assembly

Tripoli: The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the preparatory session for the 29th session of the General Assembly of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardisation and Mining Organisation (AIDSMO), which concludes on Thursday in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

Oman is represented during the preparatory session by Dr. Hilal Abdullah Al Sinani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Tunisia and Non-Resident Ambassador to the State of Libya.

This participation comes within the framework of preparations for the official session of the General Assembly, in which Oman is participating with an official delegation led by Eng. Ghalib Said Al Maamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry.

The preparatory meetings serve as a prelude to the launch of the 29th session of the organisation's General Assembly, which is witnessing broad participation from ministers of industry and heads of delegations in Arab countries.

The assembly will discuss several topics on the agenda, most notably reviewing the organisation's reports and achievements over the past period, reviewing implemented programs and initiatives, and approving future work plans aimed at developing the industry, standardisation, and mineral resources sectors, as well as enhancing Arab industrial integration to support sustainable economic development and raise the competitiveness of Arab industries.

On the sidelines of the meetings, Dr. Hilal Abdullah Al Sinani attended a meeting in the capital, Tripoli, between Eng. Ghalib Said Al Maamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, and the Libyan Minister of Industry and Minerals.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Libya, and discussed prospects for developing joint cooperation in the fields of industry, mining, and standards and metrology. They also discussed available opportunities to enhance investment partnerships between the two countries, contributing to supporting economic and industrial cooperation, exchanging expertise, and achieving the mutual interests of both sides.

The participation of the Sultanate of Oman in the General Assembly of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardisation and Mining Organisation underscores its keenness to enhance joint Arab action, contribute to formulating initiatives and policies aimed at developing the Arab industrial sector, support economic integration efforts, and promote investment in the industrial and mining sectors in a way that aligns with the goals of sustainable development and enhances the competitiveness of Arab economies.
