Muscat: Oman's Foreign Ministry has expressed its profound sorrow over the death of Omani national Nadhira bint Ahmed Al Harthy, who lost her life in a tragic avalanche in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
A spokesperson for the Ministry's Consular Department said that coordination is currently underway with the relevant Pakistani authorities to complete the necessary procedures for repatriating Al Harthy's body to the Sultanate of Oman.
The spokesperson also paid tribute to Al Harthy's contributions to strengthening humanitarian and cultural relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. Through her role as Chairperson of the Oman-Nepal Friendship Association, she played a significant role in promoting community initiatives and fostering friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The Ministry praised her dedication and distinguished efforts, recognizing the lasting impact of her work in building closer people-to-people ties and advancing cultural exchange.
The Foreign Ministry extended its sincere condolences and deepest sympathies to Al Harthy's family, praying that Almighty Allah grant her eternal mercy and provide her loved ones with patience and solace during this difficult time.
