
Haima: The total cost of road maintenance and completion projects being executed by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in Al Wusta Governorate has exceeded RO 120 million, as part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to develop the road network, enhance its efficiency and improve road safety standards.
Asphalt road maintenance works across the governorate continue with an approximate cost of OMR6,004,000, covering a total length of 1,244 kilometers. These works aim at preserving the efficiency of the road network and elevating safety levels for all users.
In the construction projects segment, the Ministry is continuing the implementation of the project to complete a section of Sultan Said bin Taimour Road – North of Haima, extending over 58 kilometers at a cost of OMR44 million, with a construction period of 24 months.
Works are also progressing on the project to complete a section of Sultan Said bin Taimour Road – Phase Three, covering 124.5 kilometers at a cost of OMR70 million, with a completion rate of 23 percent and a construction period of three years.
These projects are part of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology's strategic plans to develop the road infrastructure system in Al Wusta Governorate, enhance its efficiency and sustainability, and improve connectivity between the governorate's wilayats. This contributes to supporting economic and developmental activity, facilitating mobility and transport operations and raising road safety and traffic flow standards.
