Muscat— Oman will participate in the World of Food Moscow 2026 exhibition, scheduled to take place in the Russian capital from September 15 to 18, with the participation of 16 Omani companies seeking to expand the presence of national products in international markets and open new avenues for exports to Russia and Central Asia.
The participation is organised by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, represented by Oman Exports, as part of efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of non-oil Omani exports, support national companies in accessing new markets and connect them with international importers, distributors and buyers.
The exhibition will also provide participating companies with opportunities to explore trade partnerships and business prospects that can expand the reach of Omani products and strengthen their competitiveness in global markets.
Through their participation, the Omani companies will showcase the diversity and quality of national products, explore new distribution channels and establish business relationships with importers, retail chains, restaurants and hotels.
The participation will also highlight Oman as a reliable source of food and halal products, creating opportunities to increase national exports to the Russian market and other related markets.
Zakia bint Abdullah Al-Amri, Trade Information Specialist at Oman Exports, said the participation represents an important step towards strengthening the presence of Omani products in a promising international market.
She said the exhibition provides national companies with an opportunity to engage directly with importers, distributors and international buyers, identify new export opportunities and establish sustainable trade partnerships.
Al-Amri added that Oman Exports supports Omani companies in accessing target markets through participation in international exhibitions and by connecting exporters with available trade opportunities.
Such efforts contribute to expanding the market base for national products and enhancing their competitiveness, she said, expressing hope that business meetings during the exhibition will translate into export opportunities and partnerships that support the growth of non-oil Omani exports.
She explained that the Russian market was selected because of the opportunities it offers for Omani products, particularly in the food sector.
The participation builds on the positive results achieved during the previous edition of the exhibition, which contributed to the signing of trade agreements and the establishment of strategic partnerships with suppliers and agents in the Russian market.
This experience, she said, reinforces the importance of maintaining Oman’s presence at the international platform.
The participation is part of Oman Exports’ programme of international events and exhibitions in target markets during 2026 and 2027. The programme supports the Ministry’s efforts to develop non-oil exports, open new markets for national products and enable Omani companies to establish sustainable international trade partnerships.
