Muscat: Muscat Municipality is transitioning toward sustainable municipal operations with the integration of electric motorbikes into its daily cleaning services.
Designed to lower carbon emissions, reduce operational costs, and boost service efficiency, the new fleet features an operating range of 140 to 160 kilometers and uses high-safety Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries with a total capacity of 5.6 kWh.
The motorbikes are integrated with IoT technology and SIM card connectivity for real-time fleet tracking and management. Phase 1 of the deployment introduces battery swapping stations across three key locations: Al Qurm, Al Ghubra, and Souq Al Khoudh, out of a planned total of 14 stations.
