
Abu Dhabi: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 17th annual meeting of the Arab Finance Ministers Council, held on Monday in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.
The Sultanate of Oman's delegation to the meeting was led by Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance.
The meeting discussed a number of topics and issues pertaining to Arab financial and economic affairs, within the framework of efforts aimed at enhancing coordination and cooperation among Arab states and exchanging visions and expertise on economic and financial developments and the challenges facing Arab economies.
During the meeting, a number of financial and economic topics were reviewed relating to the diagnosis of fiscal policies in Arab states, the importance of using artificial intelligence in tax administration, and the effectiveness of sustainable financing in achieving sustainable infrastructure. The latest developments in the implementation of tax decisions were also reviewed, alongside files relating to enhancing Arab financial and economic cooperation, thereby contributing to supporting financial and economic stability and the exchange of best practices among member states.
Meanwhile, Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Ahmed Jaafar Al Musalmi, Governor of the Central Bank of Oman, and in the presence of a number of officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Oman, participated in the celebration marking the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the Arab Monetary Fund.
The participating delegation will also attend a high-level workshop entitled "Macroeconomic Resilience in the Context of Geopolitical Turbulence", to be held on Tuesday, to examine the repercussions of geopolitical changes and turbulence and their implications for financial and economic stability, as well as to discuss policies and measures supporting the enhancement of the resilience of Arab economies.
