Citizens arrested in Dhofar for illegally importing wildlife meat without permits

Muscat: The Environment Authority(EA) has arrested three individuals in the Dhofar Governorate for illegally bringing wild animal meat into the Sultanate of Oman without the required environmental permits.

Working in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police(ROP), the Environment Authority in Dhofar apprehended three citizens who were found in possession of wildlife meat, including birds and wild rabbits. The items were imported without proper environmental permits, violating Wildlife Trade Regulation Law No. 45 of 2024. Necessary legal procedures have been initiated against the suspects.

The Environment Authority has urged all members of the public to strictly comply with environmental laws and regulations to avoid legal liability.
