Muscat– The Muscat Maritime Resilience Forum 2026 will begin next Tuesday, bringing together international maritime industry leaders, academics and experts to discuss challenges facing global trade and explore ways to strengthen the resilience of maritime networks.
The forum is organised by ASYAD Group in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and the Oman Investment Authority.
It aims to provide a platform for professional dialogue, exchange of industry experience and discussion of practical solutions to strengthen maritime connectivity, improve supply chain resilience and ensure the continuity of international trade.
The forum will bring together representatives from maritime transport, ports, logistics, technology, insurance and other sectors associated with global trade, with a focus on operational challenges and solutions driven by private-sector expertise.
Engineer Abdulrahman bin Salim Al Hatmi, CEO of ASYAD Group, said the resilience of global trade depended on maritime networks' ability to maintain connectivity between markets and adapt to changes affecting the movement of goods and supply chains.
He said the forum would bring industry leaders and experts to Muscat to exchange practical experiences, address shared challenges and explore solutions to improve the readiness of the global maritime system. ASYAD Group would contribute its commercial and operational expertise to the discussions, reflecting the shared responsibility of stakeholders in strengthening maritime resilience.
Al Hatmi added that hosting the forum reflected Oman’s approach of leveraging economic diplomacy and international relations built on trust, dialogue and cooperation to address issues affecting the global economy.
He noted that Muscat’s strategic location along international maritime trade routes, together with the Sultanate’s ports, infrastructure, maritime services and logistics capabilities, positioned the country as a key link between regional and international markets.
The forum is expected to strengthen cooperation among maritime and logistics leaders from different markets and support efforts to improve the resilience of maritime networks and safeguard the continuity of global trade.
It will also contribute to developing recommendations and perspectives for the proposed Muscat Maritime Resilience Framework, aimed at supporting cooperation and preparedness across the maritime sector.
