His Majesty accorded official reception ceremony in China

Beijing: An official reception ceremony was held today for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at the Great Hall of the People in the Chinese capital, Beijing, on the occasion of His Majesty's state visit to the People's Republic of China.

Upon the arrival of His Majesty's motorcade, a 21-gun salute was fired in honour of His Majesty. Leading the welcoming party was President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China, who welcomed His Majesty as a dear guest to his country, wishing His Majesty and the accompanying official delegation a successful visit and pleasant stay.

Following the arrival, commemorative photographs of His Majesty the Sultan and the Chinese President were taken in the Great Hall to mark the occasion.

His Majesty then shook hands with senior Chinese officials present to greet him, while the Chinese President greeted the members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty.

After that, His Majesty and the Chinese President ascended the dais of honour, where the Omani Royal Anthem and the Chinese National Anthem were played, after which His Majesty inspected the guard of honour.

Afterwards, a group of students welcomed His Majesty the Sultan, on the occasion of his Royal visit.
