Oman tennis: Fatma Al Nabhani finishes second in Morocco

Muscat: Fatma Al Nabhani had to settle for second place in the the $10,000 Casablanca ITF Pro Circuit tournament as she went down fighting to Spain’s Georgina Garcia Perez in Morocco on Saturday.
The summit clash between the top two seeds lived up to the expectations as both the second seeded Omani girl as her Spanish opponent produced scintillating tennis.
Though Fatma, after losing the first set, came back fighting to take the second set, the Sultanate’s star player failed to stop Georgina from winning the match 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 and with that the title.
Fatma also took part in the doubles competition in the company of Spain’s Olga Parres Azcoitia. But their challenge ended in the semifinals where they were beaten by Georgina and her Bulgarian partner Julia Stamatova.
