Sayyid Fahd receives Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers on Wednesday received Sergei Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, who conveyed the greetings and best wishes of continuous success of President Vladimir Putin to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and his government.
Sayyid Fahd welcomed the guest and his accompanying delegation.
The two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries, means of enhancing the bilateral cooperation in several fields and activating the joint agreements between the two sides. The two sides also reviewed the current developments and the endeavors made to approximate views in all issues to help in enhancing international and regional security and stability.
On his part, the Russian Foreign Minister said that this visit is very important in terms of sharing views, negotiating and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
He affirmed his country's esteem of the wise policy being pursued by the Sultanate in its relations with countries of the world. Sayyid Fahd asked the guest to convey greetings and best wishes of His Majesty the Sultan to the Russian President and the government. The meeting was attended by Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs and Dr. Envarbik Fazelianov, Russian ambassador to the Sultanate.
